Our philosophy in designing the shelter and surrounding area of the archeological site focused on showcasing and protecting the monument, as well as planning the surrounding grounds into an accessible, welcoming and functional space, fully embedded within the encompassing private property. Giving the monument an air of formality and prestige was also required. We tried to partially limit the views from the monument, in order to ensure the privacy of the private buildings and the safety of the archaeological site. The monument, that is, the segment of the excavation which was selected for exhibition, has been sheltered and enclosed in such a way that it can be open to the public, while the surrounding grounds are a contemporary archaeological park with parterres, rich vegetation on the perimeter and natural paving materials.
