The main particularity of this landscape design project for a complex of traditional housing in the picturesquevillageofArachovastemmed from the need to respect the traditional regional architecture. We were called upon to create a special landscape, which would however maintain clear references to the surrounding ecotype of the Arachova region. Moreover, there was the usual requirement for functional linkages between individual houses and for unhindered accessibility to every one.
In order to succeed in this endeavour, we focused on minimising the aesthetic impact of the built structures via the targeted use of greenscape elements, on enhancing and bringing forth the unusual natural and geological features of the property and on harmonising the functional needs of the housing settlement with its traditional character.
